Headcorn Aerodrome was first used for general aviation in 1927 when the local land owner flew from there with a group of friends. Following the outbreak of World War II the airfield was requisitioned by the Airfields Board in 1942 and prepared for operational service. At the end of the war the airfield was closed and handed back to the owners being initially used for agriculture. With the resurgence of interest in civil aviation in the 1950's the airfield was re-opened as a base for private aviation and has been thriving ever since. Headcorn Aerodrome can be reached by car, train and of course plane and is based in the heart of the beautiful Kent Countryside, 15 minutes south of Junction 8 of the M20. The Location map gives the location of Headcorn Aerodrome with options to zoom in and out or move to adjacent areas. By train Headcorn Station is located on the London Charing Cross to Ashford International Station line. London to Headcorn takes approximately one hour.
